AUGUST MEETING UPDATE:
We are expecting our summer meeting to be one of the most important and dynamic CNP meetings ever.
North Carolina Democrat Governor Cooper has declared that even his Phase 2 reopening restrictions will allow only 10 persons per room. He is keeping businesses closed and visitors away in his fight to prevent Republicans from holding rallies or any meetings of more than 10. He believes that by preventing President Trump and other Republicans from gathering together, his party will be politically safe and the state’s electoral votes in November, will be blue.
We wanted to let you know that the Council cannot hold our meeting in North Carolina under these arbitrary restrictions.
Not all questions can be answered in this email, but we wanted to immediately let you know of a decision that was made this afternoon. You can expect more from us in the coming days as we move toward a great event in August.
- Based on Governor Roy Cooper’s June 24 Executive Order keeping North Carolina in Phase 2, CNP was forced to cancel its contract with the Charlotte Marriott City Center. There will be no penalties involved, and all room reservations within the CNP block will be canceled. If you booked a stay at the hotel, you should receive a cancellation email from the hotel in a few days.
- We are currently working on moving the meeting. This will take a few days. We will keep you informed at each step but you will definitely want to plan on being there.
In the meantime, if you have questions or concerns, please feel free to call the office at (202) 207-0165 to speak with me or any member of the CNP staff. Again, we might not have answers, yet, but I always appreciate the chance to visit with you.
Thanks for your patience. Your participation at this time is vital to our country. We will be in touch!
